I've never been to SPIN in shadyside or Images downtown. P-town I think they have gogo boys some nights, it is in Bloomfield.Ĭavo in the strip is not really a gay night club but they do have gay events. They also have occasional drag shows and some fantastic queer dance parties upstairs. They have a really nice gigantic patio.īrillobox is a hipster mostly straight bar but there is a pretty big queer crossover. the food is good and surprisingly reasonably priced. I've been to 5801 but mostly because of Drag Bingo With a Twist on Tuesdays. Both the upstairs and downstairs are pretty huge, you wouldn't know it from looking at the front of the building on a residential street. Downstairs at Cattivo is a different scene when there is an awesome event. I can't really imagine meeting new people there though. It's large enough that you can easily find a spot to hang out and actually talk. They have pool tables and darts and might be a fun place to hang out with friends. The crowd upstairs kind of keeps to themselves. They serve decent food but I rarely go there just to hang out. Lots of good burlesque and drag shows and fetish/goth nights. The good thing about the place is that people throw fun events downstairs. It is a really special place.Ĭattivo used to be marketed as a lesbian/gay bar but they are getting some well deserved shade for taking down their rainbow flags. The patrons are usually very friendly and make it a point to talk to everyone. Just don't be offended by a dick slideshow on the TV. It looks like a men's bar but it is super friendly to everyone. There is the main front bar, back room with pool tables and a quiet back patio.
There is not really a dance floor but people jump up on the empty stage or find any space they can and dance anyway. They don't serve food (unless they are throwing a party) but you can grab take out and bring it over if you want to. Karaoke on Friday nights and the wildest drag shows about every other Sat and every monday. cheap booze, no mechanically measured shots, awesome staff and a very welcoming atmosphere. I can't say enough wonderful things about it. The Blue Moon is fantastic and generally where the most diverse part of the queer community comes to hang out.
